DIRECTIONS: On the entry form, write your answers to the five Map Skills questions on page 24 of our December 2025/January 2026 issue. Then create a hand-drawn map of the country that is the correct answer to question 5. All five questions must be answered correctly for a map to be judged. Entries must be submitted by an adult. Students can’t enter directly.  

The grand-prize winner will receive a $250 gift card and a Mapman T-shirt. The grand-prize entry will be published in Junior Scholastic. (The winner’s teacher will also receive a $250 gift card.) Twenty-five runners-up will each get a Mapman T-shirt.

DIRECTIONS: To enter, interview someone who experienced a historic event in person. Then have your teacher, parent, or legal guardian send us your interview in Q&A form. It can be written (700 to 900 words) or an audio recording (5 to 7 minutes). Entries must be submitted by an adult. Students can’t enter directly.

We will award the winning interview $250 and print it in Junior Scholastic. That student’s teacher will also get $250. Two runner-up entries will each get $50. Good luck!
