Scientists have long known that pigs are intelligent, but experts recently discovered that pigs are pretty good at video games too. Who knew? Researchers at Purdue University in Indiana trained four pigs to use a joystick with their snouts to play a simple video game. If they hit a target, they were rewarded with food or positive attention. The pigs quickly caught on that moving the joystick controlled the game. The researchers say the pigs’ gaming skills show how clever they are—and suggest that they may be capable of learning a whole lot more.
