You’re probably used to seeing ads everywhere—on TV, on YouTube, on billboards, even in school. But what about in space?

A Russian company called StartRocket recently announced that it’s building satellites that can project ads onto the night sky. Each ad would look roughly the size of a half-moon and be visible from just about anywhere on Earth. The technology could also be used to broadcast emergency messages and promote big events, such as the Olympics or the Super Bowl.

But not everyone is on board with the idea. Some people worry that the ads could interfere with scientists’ ability to study space.
