France has a warning for its influencers: Fess up about your filters—or go to jail! The country recently passed a law that people with large social media followings must reveal if their posts contain altered photos. The goal is to stop influencers from promoting unrealistic expectations of how people should look.

French influencers now have to disclose when their posts contain photos made with filters, retouched images, or images created with artificial intelligence. They must also make it clear if they’re being paid to promote a product.

French lawmakers say the law is necessary to monitor the industry. Violators could face up to two years in prison, a fine of about $320,000, and a ban from using social media.
