Good luck finding a bowl large enough for such an oversized catch. A British fisherman reeled in this 67-pound hybrid goldfish late last fall in France. The Carrot, as it has been named, lives in a fishery and is thought to be one of the largest of its kind.

Normally, goldfish that you keep at home are a couple of inches long and weigh less than a pound. But when people release them into rivers or lakes, the critters can become invasive species.

They gobble up nearly everything, including snails, plants, even other small fish—and just keep growing. Some wildlife managers have found goldfish as big as footballs.
