NEWS ALERT!
Ms. Monopoly Hits the Shelves
A new version of Monopoly is putting women at the center of the board game. In it, players buy items invented by women, from wireless tech and solar heating to retractable dog leashes. Also, female players earn more money than male players. That’s a twist on the real-world gender pay gap: In the U.S., women make about 80 percent of what men do. The makers of Ms. Monopoly say the game is intended to highlight that gap. Perhaps young players will be inspired to one day help fix it!
